Regularly eating greens and taking walks in the fresh air will help prevent blood pressure spikes, says cardiologist Columbus Batiste. He gave this advice in an episode of the Plant Based News podcast, writes the Daily Mirror.
Batiste noted that he always recommends eating cabbage, mustard greens, and any other green leafy vegetables for heart health.
“They contain dietary nitrates, which can actually help dilate blood vessels and improve endothelial function,” the doctor explained.
Batiste added that a simple trick can help you get the most out of your greens.
"Take a walk in the sun. Even a small amount of sunlight can release stored nitrates and help improve blood pressure control," he suggested.
Earlier, Russians were told how to maintain blood pressure without medication. Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy of the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education Irina Volgina believes that sometimes it is enough to eat right, keep a sleep schedule and exercise to lower blood pressure.
